Finnish Sauna

Finnish sauna or “dry sauna”

The Finnish sauna or “dry sauna” is the original sauna in which the temperature can reach up to 80-100 °C, inducing an abundant perspiration of the skin, while the humidity does not exceed 10-20%. Essential oils with balsamic effect, such as pine or eucalyptus, can be added to the water. Typically the practice of sauna provides for alternating minutes in the sauna to baths in cold water or cold showers. The benefits that can be obtained from the regular use of the sauna are countless and not only on the physical level. The most immediate benefit you receive from a sauna is the relief from nervous tension and general relaxation; the enveloping heat of the sauna relaxes the muscles and joints; abundant sweating eliminates impurities and removes the layer of dead cells of the skin; with regular use of the sauna the skin tone and elasticity improves and becomes smoother and brighter.

Infrared sauna

Infrared sauna

The Infrared sauna provides many of the healthy benefits of natural sunlight, but WITHOUT the dangerous effects of sunlight. The infrared rays produce heat and have nothing to do with ultraviolet rays (the rays that tan) very harmful to the skin. The fields of application of the healthy Infrared rays are the most varied but what more confirms the beneficial effects of the same is observing that in the nurseries of hospitals incubators heat the young babies with infrared rays.

How much space is needed for a home sauna installation?

The space required for a home sauna can vary depending on the type and size of the sauna you choose. While some compact models can fit into a small closet or bathroom, others may require a larger dedicated space. It’s essential to consider the available space and the number of people who will be using the sauna when selecting the model.

Can a sauna be installed in any room of the house?

While saunas are versatile, they require specific conditions such as ventilation, access to power, and sometimes water. Ideally, saunas are installed in bathrooms, basements, or other areas with suitable conditions. It’s crucial to consult with a sauna installation professional to determine the most suitable location in your home.

How long does it take to install a home sauna?

The installation time for a home sauna depends on the type of sauna, the preparedness of the space, and any additional features or customisations. Prefabricated sauna kits can typically be installed in a few days, while custom-built saunas may take several weeks to complete.

What are the energy consumption and operating costs of a home sauna?

Energy consumption and operating costs depend on the sauna’s size, type, and usage frequency. Infrared saunas generally consume less energy compared to traditional steam saunas. It’s advisable to discuss energy efficiency options with your installation provider to optimize operational costs.

Do I need any special permits for installing a sauna in my home?

Depending on local building codes and the scope of the installation, you may need a permit for installing a sauna in your home. It’s important to check with your local building department or a professional installation service to understand the specific requirements and ensure compliance.

Can I customise my home sauna?

Absolutely! Many sauna installation services offer a range of customization options, allowing you to choose the size, shape, materials, and additional features such as lighting and sound systems. Discuss your preferences and needs with your installation provider to create a sauna that aligns with your vision and lifestyle.
